Foot in the Door is Ffilm Cymru’s award-winning training programme that offers people new opportunities to develop their transferable skills into creative careers. Working with partners across Wales, including housing associations, job centres and local authorities, Foot in the Door provides new-entrant training placements on local film and TV productions, as well as support for accessibility, transport and childcare.
This summer, a Netflix series is shooting in south Wales and Foot in the Door is offering you the chance to be a part of the production.

If you’re 18 or over and living in the Newport area you can apply for this Foot in the Door opportunity, giving you:
- Three days of free ‘set ready’ training
- Four weeks of work experience on the set, paying at least a living wage
- Bursaries to help with transport, childcare and other costs you may have
- The confidence and contacts to kick-start a career in film and TV and beyond.
Whether you have skills in carpentry, admin, hair and make-up or more, there could be a place for you in production, with trainee placements available in these departments:
- Accounts
- Art Department
- Camera
- Carpentry
- Construction
- Costume
- Hair & Makeup
- Production
- Sound

There may be some opportunities to be taken on as a full-time crew member until February 2023.
