Foot in the Door presents Creative Connections: Newport

This is an event for people 18 years plus who live in Newport and are interested in finding out more about behind the scenes roles in the creative and screen industries, to make new connections with Newport Creatives working in the industry in South Wales and beyond. 

  • Hear from local creatives and how they developed their creative careers in screen.
  • Find out more about what opportunities are available in the screen and creative industries in Newport.
  • Build your local screen industry network. 
  • Have your say in designing our ‘Foot in the Door’ taster workshops, networking events and training running in Newport in Autumn 2024.

Event info

You must be 18 plus and live OR work in Newport to be eligible for this event. 

  • Learn how screen industry professionals got into their roles, and how they have navigated their careers - from getting started to working freelance.  
  • Find out what transferable skills they have used to progress in their roles and how this has helped their career progression.  
  • Network with a range of Wales based creatives.  

This will also be an opportunity to help us shape our Foot in the Door: Newport skills hub, which will include a range of taster workshops, networking events and training available in Autumn 2024.

6.00pm - Introductions and Welcome, Ffilm Cymru Wales 

6.15pm - Panel discussion: In Conversation with Newport Creatives
