Film Exhibitor Fund
Ffilm Cymru wants all kinds of people in all kinds of places across Wales to be able to see independent films together. We support independent film exhibitors across Wales to give audiences exciting and inspiring cinematic experiences.
We provide funding and support to independent cinemas, film festivals and community providers so that they can screen films in a wide range of settings throughout the nation.
Adhering to our commitment to support innovation, inclusion and sustainable practises, this fund will support exhibitors to sustain and develop their work in an evolving sector, connecting with audiences and their wider communities through film.
In 2023-24, Ffilm Cymru will invite applications on two occasions throughout the year.
Who can apply?
Independent cinemas and arts centres, film festivals and societies, pop-up cinema events, and community providers of film screenings.
How much can I apply for?
Up to 75% of the overall total cost, to a maximum of £20,000.

- Round One: 3rd July 2023
- Round Two: 2nd November 2023
Access Requirements
For applicants with access requirements, for example individuals who are D/deaf, hard-of-hearing, Disabled or neurodiverse people, and people with sight loss, further support is also available to complete an application. For example, we can cover the costs of a BSL interpreter for a meeting with us prior to making an application, or scribing support for dyslexic applicants. Please note that we cannot cover access costs for which there is already other funding in place e.g. Access to Work support. We also cannot cover the purchase of hardware or software.
For those with access requirements, we can also accept the application forms via post, or answers in alternative formats such as a short video or slide deck. The format should be agreed with our team prior to submission.
