Cardiff Animation Festival announces mini-festival 2023
The full programme of Cardiff Animation Festival’s fourth, mini edition 24th-25th March 2023 has now been announced, and tickets are now on sale.
Mini-CAF 2023 will celebrate animation with two days of events in Cardiff and online, featuring feature and short film screenings, Q&As, masterclasses, workshops and more.
The theme for Mini-CAF 2023 is all things miniature, celebrating the little things that make animation so special. The programme will include: a talk from Welsh animator and social media star Ketnipz, a screening of Oscar-nominated stop-motion film Marcel the Shell with Shoes On, Aardman discussing their series The Very Small Creatures, One Bum Cinema Club (possibly the smallest cinema in the world) taking residency in Chapter’s foyer and a screening of Annecy 2022 Cristal-winner Little Nicholas, plus more films from all over the world and much more.
Announcing the programme, Cardiff Animation Festival’s Festival Director Lauren Orme said: “Mini-CAF will give audiences a taste of the direction we want to move in as a festival over the next few years. One of our main aims is to support our audiences' wellbeing. So we're putting on more social events, more meals people can sit down and eat together, and carving out more space between events for those magic conversations that only happen at festivals. We're also really thrilled that the whole festival will be accessible for D/deaf audiences. Snap up an Early Bird pass before they sell out!”
Mini-CAF 2023 will be held Friday 24th - Saturday 25th March at Chapter, an independent arts hub and cinema space in Cardiff, and online.
