Connector: 73 Connect

73 Connect was a series of events tailored for new and emerging filmmakers in North East Wales, connecting them with established talent & production companies as well as providing career-focused guidance and opportunities.

Supported by Ffilm Cymru and BFI NETWORK Wales’ Connector Fund, five sessions took place throughout October 2019, hosted by working professionals on a variety of topics:

  • Writer/Director/Producer Roles & Relationships
  • Developing Ideas
  • The Business of Film
  • Career Trajectories & Strategic Thinking
  • Pitching, Packaging, Presenting.

Speakers included Matt Redd & Ryan Hooper from production company Standoff Pictures, Ade Shannon from production company Mad as Birds Films, Faye Hannah of Our Colab Creative Industries Consultancy, creative consultant Mike Corcoran and Dewi Griffiths, Film Producing MA lecturer at the University of South Wales.
