The Writers Lab UK & Europe 2025 announces 10 participants
The Writers Lab UK & Europe announces its selection of 10 participants for the Lab that supports women and non-binary writers over 40.
The Lab commences Sept 3rd at Lee & Thompson in London with ongoing virtual panels, masterclasses and a digital speaker series with guests including Gillian Anderson and writer/director Marie Kreutzer.
The lab will include writers from Scotland, England, Wales, Ireland and Austria. Once again it will provide a unique opportunity to discover and nurture exciting new talent, matching selected writers with leading film and TV industry advisors while continuing to develop their projects over four months. The final selection represents a thoughtfully curated and intersectional range of voices to ensure diverse narratives by writers who will go on to shape the future of the film and TV industry.
Joining previously announced industry advisors/mentors, director Sally El Hosaini and writer/producer/director Joy Gharoro-Akpojotor to work one-on-one with the writers are; director Destiny Ekaragha (End of The F**king World), screenwriter Ursula Rani Sarma (Bodkin), producer Rienkje Attoh (Noughts and Crosses), writer Karen Cogan (Bad Sisters), director Jessica Swale (Summerland), writer/director Aislinn Clarke (Frewaka) and writer/producer Susan Soon He Stanton (Succession, Dead Ringers).
The Writers Lab UK & Europe 2025 is produced by Untamed Stories’ Julia Berg and TWL co-founders Elizabeth Kaiden and Nitza Wilon. The Lab, its virtual masterclasses and digital series are supported by Fís Éireann/Screen Ireland, Women in Film and TV Ireland, Screen Scotland, Climate Spring, Sony Pictures Television, Ffilm Cymru Wales, Lee & Thompson, Gaumont, The Austrian Film Institute, ORF - Austrian Broadcasting Corp, Drehbuchforum Wien (Screenwriters Forum Vienna), and All3Media International.
