Vertigo Releasing acquires Alice Lowe's SXSW reincarnation romp Timestalker

Vertigo Releasing is excited to announce the acquisition of Timestalker, the sophomore feature from British writer, director, and actress Alice Lowe (Prevenge).

The highly anticipated anti-romantic comedy debuted this year at SXSW and stars Alice Lowe (Prevenge, Sightseers), Jacob Anderson (Game Of Thrones), Aneurin Barnard (1899, Dunkirk), Tanya Reynolds (Sex Education, Emma), and Nick Frost (Hot Fuzz).

From the same creative team behind Prevenge at Western Edge Pictures, Timestalker follows hapless heroine Agnes (Lowe) through time as she repeatedly falls for the wrong guy, dies a grim death, and is reincarnated a century later, before meeting him again and starting the cycle anew. It is one story told over many periods, all with the messy thrills and spills that come with daring to follow your heart. Or maybe your loins…

Timestalker had its world premiere at SXSW in March 2024, debuting to both critical and audience praise. Vertigo Releasing plans to release the title widely in cinemas in Autumn 2024.

Vertigo Head of Acquisitions & Business Development Ed Caffrey says ‘We're delighted to be working on the devilishly funny Timestalker. Alice Lowe has once again proved herself to be an inimitable comedic genius.'

Timestalker is a Western Edge Pictures production, in co-production with Popcorn Group with funding from the BFI, Head Gear Films, Popcorn Group, and Ffilm Cymru Wales awarding National Lottery funding, and by the Welsh Government via Creative Wales. HanWay Films represents international sales.
