Navigating and Supporting Mental Health in Teams
Led by Michelle White from 6FT From The Spotlight, this online session will focus on ways to support the mental health of crew members working in the film industry.
It will cover the common signs and symptoms which might present when someone is struggling with their mental health and the considerations we should take when supporting these workers. This will include confidentiality, safeguarding frameworks, effective signposting, reasonable adjustments, establishing healthy and ethical boundaries and offer some practical tools to manage difficult conversations.
This session is for anyone managing or collaborating in a team who wishes to understand how to identify signs of common mental health disorders and know which steps to take to fulfil their duty of care requirements and proactively care for any team members struggling with their mental health.
By the end of this session you should be able to:
- Understand the mental health picture in the film and TV sector in the UK
- Identify signs of common mental disorders
- Utilise a helpful framework of safeguarding
- Discern how to apply confidentiality, signposting and reasonable adjustments
- Apply listening and questioning tools for managing sensitive conversations
This discussion will be through the medium of English and will include live captioning and BSL interpretation. If you would like to attend and have any additional access requirements please contact Tracy Spottiswoode on tracy@ffilmcymruwales.com or call 07902 492109 to discuss in confidence.
