Bronwen Lloyd
Recently retired and a long-time film fan, Bron brings with her significant experience as the previous Head of Regeneration of social housing supplier Charter Housing (now Pobl). For 30 years Bron has been working with people and communities to make positive change through innovative projects that promote equality and citizenship, and increase economic activity and social networks. She is passionate about tackling inequality (leading on Equality, Diversity and Inclusion for Pobl Group achieving the National Centre for Diversity Quality Mark) and particularly its impact on women (leading on the Gwent Social Landlords award winning ‘Free from Fear’ initiative to improve their response to domestic abuse).
Bron got into housing by chance as a Board member of her local housing association (she’s actually a designer by training). She has worked in most aspects of housing including homelessness, housing management, regeneration, policy, and strategy in both local authority and housing associations. She has served on the Boards of several Housing Associations, social enterprises and cooperatives some of which she was involved in establishing including Moneyline Cymru CDFI, Newport Credit Union and Loftus Village Association Newport’s first housing cooperative. She is a Board and founder member of SHARE a community led social enterprise and community resource centre.
