Kotatsu Festival of Japanese Animation 2022

The Kotatsu Japanese Animation Festival was created by organizer Eiko Meredith. Launched in November 2010 at Chapter Arts Centre in Cardiff, UK, the festival screens the best in Japanese animation and culture to a wide audience.

They celebrated their 10th anniversary in October 2020 with a special edition of the festival that was all free and online. They presented four screenings and three Zoom meetings, with four short film programmes featuring award-winning filmmakers and emerging talents from various universities across Japan.

In 2022, Kotatsu returns to in-person screenings at Chapter Arts Centre, Cardiff, Aberystwyth Arts Centre and Pontio, Bangor.
