Trainee Production Coordinator, My Extinction Ltd

My Extinction Ltd. is looking for a Welsh/Wales-based Trainee Production Coordinator to work on a feature documentary for a period of 30 days that will be spread out across 4 - 5 months.

This is an exciting professional development opportunity with lots of flexibility, and we’re keen to hear from ambitious junior production coordinators or production assistants.

The role is intended to support production by coordinating logistics for shoots and managing budgets and cost reports. In addition to this, there is potential opportunity to work alongside the producers on the film’s impact campaign later down the line.

The feature-length documentary is co-directed by David Proud and Paul Viragh, produced by Emmy-award winning Lindsey Dryden, Rob Alexander and Samantha Steele. This is a disabled-led project, so the role requires a proven interest and experience in disability themes.

  • Liaising reliably and professionally with filmmaking team/crew
  • Creating call sheets and risk assessments
  • Arranging couriers for hard drive collections
  • Liaising with Edit Assistant on back-ups and hard drives
  • Maintaining accurate financial records for budgeting and expense purposes
  • Manage incoming invoices and updating cost reports
  • Archival rights research
  • Supporting producers on additional tasks where needed (incl. impact strategy)

Ideal candidate

  • Previous experience working as a coordinator or production assistant
  • Great communication skills, positivity and highly motivated and organised approach
  • Experience in and passion for working in documentary film (preferred, but not required)
  • Passion for disabled-led storytelling
  • Self-motivated and independent in work approach
  • Ability to handle a wide range of tasks
