The Toll to be released in UK cinemas this Summer

The ‘West Walian Western’ will be released in the UK by Signature Entertainment on 27th August.

Michael Smiley (Kill List) stars as a toll booth operator with a criminal past opposite Annes Elwy (Gwledd / The Feast) as the local traffic cop whose path inevitably leads to the toll booth. The film also stars Iwan Rheon (Game of Thrones), Paul Kaye (The Stranger), Gwyneth Keyworth (Black Mirror), Steve Oram (Sightseers), and Julian Glover (Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade).

Produced through Ffilm Cymru’s Cinematic scheme, The Toll is the debut feature of writer Matt Redd and director Ryan Andrew Hooper, and was produced by Mark Hopkins for Western Edge Pictures. Redd and Hooper are currently developing black comedy The Life and Death of Daniel Dee with support from Ffilm Cymru.

The Cinematic scheme is financed by Ffilm Cymru and the BFI with National Lottery funding, S4C, Great Point Media, and Fields Park Media Partners. Great Point Media are handling international sales on The Toll.
