Beacons: Short Film Funding

Under our BFI NETWORK WALES offer, Ffilm Cymru commissions world-class live-action, documentary and animated short films in partnership with BBC Wales.

The Beacons program involves expert advice and training, which will help you to bring your cinematic vision to life and to secure distribution for your film at key festivals across the globe as well as on the BBC.

Who can apply?

Writers and directors or writer/producer/director teams who have already made some work for screen but who have not yet led on a feature film with a budget of over £1 million. The director on the project should be born or based in Wales.

How much can I apply for?

Up to £15,000

What do I need to apply with?

In addition to a completed application form: a script, CVs for key members of the creative team, and a link to one previous piece of work from the director.
