Hannah Thomas

Hannah is Head of Drama and a Producer at Wales based independent production company Severn Screen. Company film credits include Mr. Burton, Havoc, Denmark, Apostle and Yr Ymadawiad. Hannah works across Severn Screen’s entire slate developing a range of content for the international film and high-end television market. Between 2017 and 2022, she also series produced all three seasons of crime drama Hidden/Craith for S4C, BBC Wales and BBC FOUR. In 2022, she produced the BAFTA Cymru winning BBC drama Steeltown Murders, and in 2024 was series producer on the BAFTA Cymru nominated six-part S4C/UKTV drama Mudtown/Ar y Ffin.

Hannah has previously held roles at Ffilm Cymru Wales, where as Head of Creative Sector Development she served as Executive Producer on titles such as I Am Not A Witch, Orion: The Man Who Would be King and A Dark Song. Hannah started her career at the BBC as a development producer and producer. 

Hannah is a proud Welsh speaker and has a particular interest in developing sustainable career pathways for filmmakers in Wales and beyond. She is chair of the Leaders of Tomorrow group for ScreenSkills which focuses on equipping mid-level film and television professionals with the tools they need to progress to senior level, decision making roles. 

Hannah holds an MA in Film and Television Production Management.
