New strand to celebrate Best of British at Iris 2014

Iris Prize logo has a make-over to celebrate new Best of British strand. Best British Short Award will be judged by new independent jury.

Organisers of the Iris Prize, Cardiff’s International gay and lesbian short film prize supported by The Michael Bishop Foundation have announced plans for a new strand to celebrate the Best of British.

The new strand will screen up to 10 of the best short films produced by film makers in Britain over the past 24 months. The films will be judged by an independent British Jury who will present the winning film with the Iris Prize Best British Short Award.

BFI NET.WORK Wales present their latest Launchpad event for filmmakers at the Hay Literature Festival

Richard Booth's Bookshop in picturesque Hay-on-Wye will host three days of talent labs for directors and writers, film finance meetings, workshops on book-to-film adaptations, talent surgeries, script readings and masterclasses. The event will also feature screenings of Lenny Abrahamson's new film Frank, starring Michael Fassbender, in the bookshop's beautiful boutique cinema.Ffilm Cymru Wales at the famous festival.
