Magnify Your Potential

Filmmakers in North Wales will have the chance to make the most of their ideas at Ffilm Cymru's latest Magnifier event.

Held at Bangor University on 27th and 28th July, the Magnifier training day will provide an opportunity for filmmakers and content creators to learn from an international selection of speakers from the film, theatre, games and cross-media sectors.

Considering the explosion in alternative routes to audience and an increasingly tough film financing climate, the first session on Friday 27th will explore how the role of the producer has evolved. One of the world's first cross-media producers Asta Wellejus will discuss with Wrexham-born producer Andy Evans (Keepers, Julian Lennon's Everything Changes project) and former Bedlam Productions' producer Stella Nwimo (...Is it the Design on the Wrapper, Nuclear). The second Friday panel will discuss reaching young audiences with Chris Payne, Managing Director of North Wales games developers Quantum Soup, Paula Clark and Jessy Roberts from York Theatre’s TakeOver Festival, and Wicked Wales film festival director Rhiannon Wyn Hughes.

Saturday 28th will start with Finding Your Voice - a conversation with Kieran Evans, the BAFTA winning director of Kelly + Victor, followed by an interactive filmmaking masterclass from Asta Wellejus.

Tickets for each day are £20, or £30 for both days. Book your place here.
