Starting in cinema management at the David Lean Cinema Croydon and Cambridge Arts Cinema, Edward went on to have a 20 year career in film distribution running the distribution arm of the Institute of Contemporary Arts, ICA Projects before co-founding indie distributor Soda Pictures in 2002. Highlight releases included Toni Ermann, Paterson and Wadjda. Soda Pictures was an inaugural member of the Cinematic Scheme launched by Ffilm Cymru Wales and served as an Executive Producer across productions including Y Lyfrgell / The Library Suicides, The Lighthouse and Just Jim. Other Welsh titles he acquired for distribution included The Gospel of Us, Summer Scars, Separado! and American Interior.

Soda was acquired by Canadian media group Thunderbird Entertainment in 2014 and having relaunched in 2017 as Thunderbird Releasing films acquisitions included the Palme D’oR winning Shoplifters, The Kindergarten Teacher starring Maggie Gyllenhaal and Claire Denis’ High Life.

In 2020, Edward joined games studio Rebellion to spearhead their growth in Film and Television developing a production slate from their extensive IP library and taking it forward into production and distribution.

A former board member of Film London, Europa Distribution, Film Distributors Association and University of Westminster media faculty advisory board, Edward holds an MA in Film & Television.
